SYNOPSIS
"And My Love Will Live On" is an animated short film that depicts the disturbing transformation of the urban landscape and the growing silence within Russian civil society as Russia escalated its aggression against Ukraine into a full-scale war in February 2022. The film portrays three true stories of individuals who found the courage to speak out against the war and suffered tragic consequences as political prisoners. Through minimalist collage techniques, blending AI-generated elements into complete scenes, the film explores how an authoritarian regime silences society through fear and whether there is still space for resistance and hope amidst oppression.
The filmmaker, a Russian living in Germany, weaves personal and historical elements into an artistic statement, raising questions about humanity and resistance in a society shaped by repression.
